How to read this table: Haze indicates privacy depth in OFF state and clarity in ON state — lower ON-haze means a clearer transparent view. VLT (Visible Light Transmittance) determines how much daylight passes through. IRR and UVR show heat and UV blocking performance — higher values mean better comfort and protection. Viewing angle affects clarity when viewed from the side — wider angles suit large partitions and boardrooms.
Physical and Electrical Performance
Validate compatibility with building electrical and glazing constraints before ordering.
Operating Voltage
65 V AC
Use dedicated transformer only — direct mains connection will damage the film.
Power Consumption
3.7 W/sqm
Low ON-state energy draw — costs less than a nightlight per square meter.
Switch ON Response
<= 60 ms
OFF to ON transition — fast enough to be instantaneous to human perception.
Switch OFF Response
<= 20 ms
ON to OFF — critical for instant privacy when needed.
Rated Lifespan
> 100k hrs
Continuous-duty capable — over 11 years of 24/7 operation.
Switching Cycles
> 200M
High durability for frequent use — switching 20×/day would take 27,000+ years to reach this limit.
Tested to GB18910.5-2008 and related in-house cycle and optical verification workflows.
Which Model Should You Choose?
Match model performance to your project priorities.
Maximum Clarity
EL-X2-A / EL-X2-PRO
Lowest ON haze (1.13–1.47%) and highest VLT (90–97%). Ideal for retail displays, projection screens, and any application where visual fidelity through the glass matters most.
Best Wide-Angle
EL-L2-PRO / EL-X2-PRO
165° viewing angle maintains clarity even when viewed from steep side angles. Recommended for conference rooms, boardrooms, and large partitions where people gather around the glass.
Best Value
EL-L2 / EL-L2-PRO
Balanced performance at entry-level pricing. ON haze of 2.36–2.58% and VLT of 84–90% — excellent for most privacy applications where absolute top-tier clarity is not critical.
Dimensions and Format
Sheet, roll, and thickness constraints for procurement planning.
Maximum Single-Sheet Width
Lengths are custom per order in sheet or roll format.
1,800 mm
(70.87 in)
| Sheet Widths | 1000 / 1200 / 1500 / 1800 mm |
| Sheet Length | Custom |
| Roll Widths | 1020 / 1220 / 1520 / 1820 mm |
| Max Roll Length | <= 50 m |
| Core Diameter | 6 in |
Installation Requirements
Correct installation protects film performance, warranty, and project reliability.
01. Dry Application Only
PDLC film is a dry-install product. Do not introduce water during application — moisture between the adhesive and glass causes bubbles and delamination.
02. Edge Clearance
Film should be 2-3 mm smaller than visible glass edges. This gap prevents electrical contact between the busbar and metal framing, which would cause short circuits.
03. Edge Sealing (Mandatory)
Seal immediately using neutral-cure, non-solvent, zero-shrink silicone. Typical quantity: 75 ml/sqm. Unsealed edges allow moisture ingress that corrodes busbar connections — the single most common cause of premature failure.
04. Surface Preparation
Clean using IPA and lint-free cloth. Dust and grease degrade adhesion and optical quality — even microscopic particles create visible imperfections under the film.
05. Cutting Tolerance
Recommended precision: +/-0.5 mm. Roll-film processing requires dedicated tools — imprecise cutting leads to uneven edges and poor busbar contact.
06. Electrical Connection
Do not wire to mains directly. Use correctly sized transformer based on total film area. Undersized transformers overheat and reduce switching reliability.
Certifications and Standards
Reference standards and measurement workflows used for product verification.
Lifespan Test Standard
GB18910.5-2008
Switching Cycle Test
Independently conducted cycle testing workflow.
Optical Measurements
